Tweed is one of the cosiest, most recognised and coveted fabrics in the fashion world. It screams luxury, elegance, and history. Dior has been using it in tailoring, skirts, dresses, and accessories since the Coutourier founded the Maison back in the 1940s. Today, Maria Grazia Chiuri carries on with this rich legacy with a new it bag: the Dior Tojours.
True to her vision, which aims to reimagine the historic pieces of the Maison and give them a contemporary spin, Maria Grazia Chiuri has reinterpreted the Dior Tojours bag for the Spring/Summer 2024 ready-to-wear collection, turning it into yet another object of desire for fashion lovers worldwide. Handmade by the ateliers of the Maison, which keep Dior’s virtuous savoir-faire alive, the bag features a unique texture thanks to the cannage motif, whose design requires six different types of thread, as well as the leather parts and finishings including the handles. The attention to detail can be seen in the CD Lock buckle and the ‘D, I, O, R’ charms.
