Fashion is stressful, we know that. But lately, it seems like we can’t catch a break with all the new appointments, especially when creative directors last less than TikTok microtrends. In major breaking news, Gucci has just announced that Demna is taking the reins of the House — shocking!
After ten years at Balenciaga, Demna made it one of the hottest brands of the moment. His unique take on the House codes, as well as his commitment to a personal vision that relied on technology, shock value, and social commentary, will now be overtaking Gucci (also part of Kerng). In a public statement, François-Henri Pinault, Chairman & CEO of the fashion conglomerate, says: “Demna’s contribution to the industry, to Balenciaga, and to the Group’s success has been tremendous. His creative power is exactly what Gucci needs. As thank him for everything he has accomplished over the past ten years, I look forward to seeing him shape Gucci’s new artistic direction.”
