The longtime friend and contributor of the French Maison, Sofia Coppola, is once again back into action, this time unveiling an exclusive new book titled Chanel Haute Couture. Created in partnership with Chanel and Éditions 7L, this volume is a visual journey through the history of the Maison’s haute couture, spanning from its early beginnings over a century ago to the present day.

The collaboration between Coppola and Chanel is a story that began decades ago. At just fifteen, she had a summer internship in the Chanel Creation Studio in Paris, an experience that forged a lasting bond with the Maison. This deep-rooted relationship has since blossomed into a series of creative partnerships, from hosting dinners to filmmaking projects.
Coppola, known for her unique feminine aesthetic and ability to blend various elements, has crafted a stunning compilation of archival photographs, never-before-seen sketches, runway show images, and behind-the-scenes moments. This project not only showcases the legacy of Chanel but also highlights Coppola’s distinctive eye for storytelling and design.
This exclusive 450-page volume is a detailed exploration of Chanel’s haute couture evolution, featuring the work of three creative directors: Gabrielle Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld, and Virginie Viard. It brings together an impressive collection of images from renowned photographers, capturing iconic models and friends of the Maison from different eras.
The book is designed by Anamaria Morris for Joseph Logan Design and is a co-publication between Éditions 7L and Important Flowers, Coppola’s own publishing imprint. And if you were wondering, the book is already available to purchase.
