This past July, Michael Rider opened the doors to a new Celine: not one that seeks the craziest wardrobe, but an era aiming to define the brand’s garments through a very specific identity. For Spring/Summer 2026, the designer looks back into the house’s past and delivers a remarkably solid collection.
From Parisian chic to Americana style, we can see where Michael Rider is heading: building a lasting legacy that goes beyond aesthetics. He seeks to elevate the basics, studying the brand’s historical elements and infusing them with just the right amount of his American DNA into the Parisian codes. From the rock bars to the countryside, Michael Rider is here to stay.
Cinched waistlines in blazers and coats, seen previously in his past collections, return with strength. Branded scarves play a huge role in the elevation of the wardrobe and can now be considered one of Celine’s standout pieces. These were blended with essential items like shirts, leading us to the colour palette: clearly a continuation of his previous work. We see examples such as a black dress with colour-blocked sleeves, a vibrant yellow logo sweater, and, of course, a few printed options. The evening wear stood out as well with dresses that looked straight out of the Parisian elite’s closet: a purple sparkling sequin dress and a black one with a balloon-like skirt that contrasts elegantly with the fitted bodice and halter neckline, creating a dynamic silhouette that feels both modern and timeless.
A soft yet practical palette dominated the forty-nine looks. The “Hedi Boy” aesthetic hasn’t been forgotten: leather jackets and slim trousers remain, contrasting with baggier, fluid silhouettes. Chunky logo belts added a French countryside finish to the outfits, while leather bags and eyewear completed the looks with confidence and polish.
