Known for its quirky designs and comfortable, high-quality shoes, Camp has teamed up again for a second time with Berlin-based studio Ottolinger for a whole new range of Spring/Summer footwear. The launch of these three new styles was celebrated at Casa Camper Berlín on April 27th. The collection is now available worldwide in Camper stores.
First unveiled during Ottolinger’s Spring/Summer 2023 Paris show, the gender-neutral capsule introduces three new styles. The collection takes us back to the Camper archives in order to reinvent Camper’s signature Acqua silhouette through Ottolinger’s distinctive deconstruction, elevating the silhouette to an increasingly contemporary feel.
Ottolinger, the avant-garde darling of the fashion world is the brainchild of Swiss-born designers Christa Bösch and Cosima Gadient. The brand is renowned for its boundary-pushing designs that juxtapose couture-level tailoring with radical deconstruction. Immaculately finished products are calculatedly slashed, burned, and manipulated into unconventional forms across the collection. Grounded in the interplay between creativity and destruction, Ottolinger's unorthodox approach presents a bold challenge to the Camper archives.
The collection features three flat summer styles, including a thong sandal, a knee-high wrap sandal featuring Ottolinger's distinctive straps, and a zip boot. The shoes are made from a natural-based EVA outsole containing a thirty per cent bio-based compound and soft recycled neoprene uppers. All three styles come with adjustable buckle strap details, and the palette is versatile, with monochrome options ranging from black to shades of sherbet yellow and bubble gum pink. The design was inspired by the shape of inflatable speed boats and features a rounded, asymmetric silhouette and a bold, extra-light outsole.
