“She was my first,” Matthieu Blazy, Creative Director of Bottega Veneta pays tribute to model Kate Moss in his new fanzine for the Italian house. Looking back at his teenage adoration of Kate Moss, the new coffee table tome includes a series of photographs and collages of the British supermodel.
The fanzine arrives as part of a series of publications “capturing the motion and emotions” of Botega Venetta’s Summer 2023 collection, shown in Milan last September. The first two books document the “ideation, approach and process” of Italian designer Gaetano Pesce’s custom designs alongside unseen images of the Summer 2023 collection. The third, epitomises the iconic '90s supermodel’s career.
This fanzine is made out of a selection of collages and collected images from Blazy’s teenage years. Inviting the reader to embrace a childlike sense of wonder. “Kate Moss was my first Google search and the first photo to be printed on the family printer,” says Blazy, “she became a personal icon. If I was doing my ‘Kate Moss,’ it meant I was in the middle of collecting pictures. This hobby became a sort of education. This fanzine is a tribute to Kate and the pages of a binder that defined my coming of age.
