Manolo Blahnik and Carrie Bradshaw share a storied and fiercely loyal relationship — one that has survived everything from street muggings to marriage proposals. Yet, it seems Blahnik has found a new soulmate in Balenciaga.
First introduced in Balenciaga’s Autumn 2026 Body and Being lookbook, the collaboration presents a sophisticated palette to choose from. Whether you prefer to keep it classic in black or grey, or opt for a bolder approach with striking lime, grass-green, or violet tones, there is a shade to punctuate any outfit. In terms of silhouette, the collection offers kitten-heeled mules, perfect for a subtle lift, alongside slingback iterations available in both low and high heels to effortlessly carry you from day to night.
The collection was conceptualised by Pierpaolo Piccioli, who delved deep into the Manolo archives to reimagine heritage pieces for a contemporary audience. Combining the distinct codes of both Houses, the heels are crafted in Manolo’s classic silk satin, while Balenciaga’s DNA peeks through via the leather lining in the brand’s signature grey. Hand-embedded crystal leaf motifs cascade down the vamp of the shoe — a dual tribute to Cristóbal Balenciaga’s 1960 bijoux designs and Blahnik’s own signature flair for infusing jewellery into footwear. Low-cut décolleté silhouettes unveil the side of the foot with a sensual elegance, offering a masterclass in subtle allure. Truly, these are shoes Carrie would gladly walk forty-eight blocks in.
Speaking on the collaboration, Piccioli stated: “This collaboration came to life for very personal reasons. I simply like Manolo. That’s it. I know him personally and have admired him for a long time. To me, Manolo Blahnik is synonymous with elegance and as he’s Spanish – like Cristóbal Balenciaga – there’s a certain shared sensibility there.”
The partnership never feels forced or out of place; instead, it orchestrates a harmonious dialogue between history and modernity. Manolo Blahnik’s five decades of peerless craftsmanship have long cemented his status as a household name, while Piccioli’s new leading role at Balenciaga proves he possesses a razor-sharp vision for the House. This is just the beginning. Together, they seamlessly become one, while beautifully preserving their individual identities.
Appointed as Creative Director on 19 May 2025, Piccioli has quickly demonstrated his commitment to tracing the House back to its roots, honouring its founder’s vision while guiding the Maison into a brilliant new era. In the collaboration’s campaign, the heels are styled alongside leggings, structured leather jackets, and floor-length gowns, proving that high fashion can inherently function as refined comfort. It moves to the rhythm of modern life.
Even if Manolo has expanded his horizons, we are certain Carrie Bradshaw is already queuing up to get her hands on every single style. As should you.
The collection is available to purchase now in select boutiques and online.
