If you grew up in the ‘90s and early aughts, you’re surely familiar with LA’s Bel Air neighbourhood thanks to the TV show The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, starring a super young and cool Will Smith. Well, keep the luxury and rebellious side of that in mind but forget about the maximalist prints and colourful garments because Balenciaga is resignifying it with its new carry-all bag.
The new campaign of the Bel Air bag stars none other than another ‘90s icon, supermodel Kate Moss, as well as more contemporary stars like K-pop singer Juyeon and model Kit Butler, who had previously starred in the House’s Le City bag campaign alongside Moss. Shot by Mario Sorrenty against a clean, sleek white backdrop, the images allow us to focus on the versatile accessory, available in small, medium, and extra-large sizes.
It is a timeless piece crafted in a matte calfskin exterior and soft Nappa lining. It includes side snaps that allow the main compartment to be expanded, a nice touch that makes it more functional and allows its wearer to adapt it to their needs. What sets the Bel Air bag apart is its flap, secured by turn-lock closures and belts, which makes it even more sleek and elegant.
