Speaking about his latest single, the American artist states: “This is a song that captures the lingering effects of letting go of a relationship, realizing you’re in love with who they were and not who they are anymore. It’s a song recognizing the highlight reel of love while being aware that's all it is, a highlight reel. For a hopeless romantic, you’ll always have the what-ifs.”
The main issue with this is that, a lot of times, it’s both parties that feel this way but don’t know how to act properly — should they discuss this? Should they try to find a solution? Have they tried already and maybe should let go? This new single, the second by August Royals this year after a pretty silent 2024, comes with a music video starring himself and depicting a couple that, despite some seemingly happy moments, known that it is all coming to an end.
