Cult-California skate label and London-based designer Martine Rose took to Instagram to announce their forthcoming collaboration through a joint post on April 9. Yesterday, the official lookbook emerged. The images, shot by London-based photographer Rosie Marks and styled by Tamara Rothstein teased a range of co-branded apparel. Officially titled Stüssy & Martine Rose, the capsule collection is set to launch this Friday, April 14.

The collection celebrates Stüssy’s love for the automobile world and “the art of driving” offering a range of car accessories such as a wheel cover, a co-branded car mat featuring a lucky 8-ball, a graphic windshield protector decorated with figures from Rose’s community, a yellow fringed flag set to hang from your rear-view mirror, and scented air fresheners.

At the backdrop of the shoot, we see a Mercedes-AMG model playing the sped-up version of Raye and 070 Shake’s hit song Escapism. British subcultures meet So-Cal cockiness – taking inspiration from Marks’ Jamaican-British heritage and personal involvement with the high-low melting-pot cultures of London, the collection fluently references various subcultural contexts enshrined within both brands, respectively.

A pair of black leather racing gloves shines as the star of the collection. The gloves feature a series of distinctive colours on a black leather base bearing Rose’s “Expect Perfection” slogan alongside co-branded logos and graphics. As for apparel, the duo reinterprets two classic Stüssy statements T-shirts and Hoodies in black or tan offerings with a series of Rose’s graphics.
