Skofee will release her second EP, Joyland, at the end of 2022. A new work that touches on love, loss and the search for happiness in familiar places. But until then, and with the aim of advancing some clues to her loyal audience, the singer born and raised in Wichita Kansas now presents her new single and music video, Wind Up Hero. A track that comes after having released songs that now surpass fifty thousand listeners on Spotify, such as Fantomlibimb or Spiderman (Post Pop Remix).
“The track was born out of a note in my phone. I'd misheard something a friend said and, thinking they'd said ‘Wind Up Hero.’ The resulting song is sung through the character of the Wind Up Hero, who will never let you down regardless of how much pain she’s in,” comments the rising pop artist based in Los Angeles. “It addresses my tendency to emotionally drain myself in an effort to make space for someone else’s feelings, which ends up serving neither party. Showing up for someone when you're not in a good place feels a bit like summoning a superpower, so I felt the metaphor was fitting,” she confides.

Wind Up Hero comes along with a music video filmed and edited by Christina Bryson. The lofi vintage visuals combine nostalgic influences from the 70s and 90s, and follow Skofee as she indulges in a wild desert escape and a road trip gone wrong, while featuring groove-infused dance pop landscapes under captivating melodies. Her sophomore EP will be preceded by several singles from the collection. And this track that she is now revealing is just a small preview. Stay tuned!
