Sandy Liang and Salomon announce their collaboration, just in time for your summer sneaker rotation. A relationship born out of the duo’s joint efforts at New York Fashion Week during Spring/Summer 2021, the collaboration fuses timelessness with the modern zeitgeist challenging the boundaries of style and performance. Salomon’s first female-led partnership, the collaboration revisits two individual silhouettes, the Salomon RX Moc 3.0 and the XT-6 Expanse Plus.
The collection notes describe the release as “A celebration for the person who runs the trails in a dress.” The footwear styles will be launched on April 28 for purchase on Sandy Liang's website and in-store, followed by a release on HBX on May 5. “There is a sportiness to Salomon that resonates with me. Growing up in the ’90s, I loved wearing sneakers. I incorporated this into my design process, tapping into nostalgic colorways and details like the anime-inspired flower decal seen throughout the capsule,” says Liang.

The reinvented sneakers prioritises a sporty edge and unique design elements that reimagine Liang's nostalgic ethos in a series of pastel colourways. Inspired by the Pokémon characters Jiggly Puff and Whimsicott, Liang chose to combine Cradle Pink and Jolly Green for her nostalgic yet contemporary reinterpretation of the XT-6 classic silhouette, fine-tuned with the addition of 90s anime playful florals. Meanwhile, the easy-to-slide-on RX Moc 3.0 offers a sheer cream mesh upper that diversifies its wearability and enhances breathability.
