The collaboration between New Balance and London-based skate brand Palace seems almost destined given the shared British heritage and affinity for collaboration both brands have demonstrated over the years. The Palace x New Balance Made in United Kingdom 991 silhouette marks the second time that the two brands have worked together. The first collaboration was the Made in UK 1500, which dropped back in 2019.
New Balance has a long-standing relationship with the UK-based football casuals, who pride themselves on elitism on and off the field. Since its inception, Palace has been known for its unique blend of skateboarding culture and British streetwear. Grounded in authenticity, Palace has always lived and breathed skateboarding, which contrasts New Balance's on-field athletic roots. Given the popularity of both Palace and New Balance, it's likely that the Made in UK 991 will sell out quickly, so be sure to mark your calendars for May 12th and act fast to secure a pair.

The shoe will be available in two different colour-ways, the first offering is a sandy colorway with pops of purple and teal, the second is a grey take, with similar contrasting pops of colour. Additional details include co-branding embroidered on the tongue while P991 lace locks are attached at the forefoot. Cushioning the underfoot is the plush Azsorb midsole while a black-based outsole sits below.

Additionally, this collaboration will include a matching apparel collection featuring co-branded jackets, sweaters, shorts, and hats. To celebrate the release Palace has created a short film written and directed by Stuart Hammond PWBC and starring Palace and New Balance pro skater Charlie Birch and Palace family Dino Da Silva, Jonah West, and Stan Brock.

Made out of a mix of suede, leather, and mesh materials, the sneaker boasts a unique texture and appearance. The N logo on the side of the shoe is embroidered in green, while the Palace logo is featured on the heel of the shoe. According to Palace, the sneaker was designed with comfort and performance in mind. The shoe features New Balance's signature ABZORB cushioning technology, which provides excellent shock absorption and stability. The shoe also features a rubber outsole for enhanced grip and durability.

The Palace x New Balance Made in UK 991 collaboration is a natural fit for both brands, given their shared ties to the UK. New Balance has a long history of manufacturing sneakers in the UK, with a factory in Flimby, Cumbria that has been in operation since 1982. The factory employs skilled workers who use traditional techniques to create high-quality sneakers that are known for their durability and comfort. The Made in UK 991 is a testament to the brand's dedication to producing top-of-the-line sneakers that are both stylish and functional. The shoe's sleek design and high-quality construction make it a must-have for any sneaker-head looking to add a new pair of kicks to their collection
