It is necessary to go back to some of his previous releases like Lucid Dream or his EP The North – in which we find songs with exciting titles like Magenta Skies – to understand the narrative of his new work. Midnight Swimming takes us to a place where the search for human connection, uncertainty and maximum suspense become the main protagonists. “My name is Aidan, figure of the North. Sides have been designed, drunk on and run as innocence,” recites Mirsy, before taking hold of One With Shade as a hostage. Eclectic guitars blend with ear-candy 80s toms in a melody that keeps you awake to the end.
One With Shade, whose work has been praised by publications such as Ladygunn or Earmilk, has already announced that he will be bringing his music to life next Thursday, August 5, at his Los Angeles show at Resident DTLA. Great news that comes after a few difficult months for the music scene, due to the health crisis, and that will let us reconnect with ourselves through this art. We will have to wait to know more about the next episode of One With Shade, but in the meantime, we can take the opportunity to analyse the meaning of his work, in which the entire plot he narrates seems to be perfectly designed.
