This young boutique festival, inspired by bohemian culture and the Atlantic’s laidback, surf-oriented lifestyle, was born in Essaouira (Morocco), back in 2016. After several successful editions (and a global pandemic), the organisation had the courage of bringing the event to another Atlantic country, Portugal, in 2021. As they state, “MOGA is the discovery of a place, a culture, a city at the heart of the concept of the festival.”
So, what to expect in this third edition of MOGA Caparica? First and foremost, a fabulous lineup mixing local and international talent with the likes of
Oceanvs Orientalis,
Heidi Lawden &
Lovefingers,
Retro Cassetta,
Danilo Plessow (MCDE),
Sadar Bahar,
Jorge Caiado, Gerd Janson,
Jimi Jules,
Ze Pedro Moura, Slim Peace & Blossom, and
Sara Wual, among many others. They’ll be playing in boat parties (pay special attention to Fuse boat party, sailing across the Tejo river on Thursday, June 1st), beach parties, and the official after parties taking place at night.
But not only that. MOGA celebrates wellness and well-being, so it has also planned enriching activities for the soul like yoga classes and meditation so festival-goers can connect over values of exchange, interculturality and openness. Local cuisine will also play an important role, so expect stalls with unique proposals highlighting Portugal’s mouthwatering food.
In all, MOGA Caparica promises to be a feast for all the senses, a place for like-minded people to get together who think of festivals and the dance floor as places for communion rather than alienation. A shared experience where everyone is welcome and connected. See you there!
