Having released their debut EP Voodoo Eyes in the spring of 2020 and after playing at SXSW and sold-out shows in London and Paris, brother and sister duo Minimal Schlager return with their new single Forbidden Fruit. This is the first song to be taken from their upcoming debut album Love, Sex & Dreams out on September 9 via Berlin's Duchess Box Records. And the new release comes along with a music video animated by Moritz Riedl and edited and graded by Fran Parisi.
But how did the idea for this track come about? “We wrote Forbidden Fruit after I finished reading Blood Wedding, Federico Garcíaa Lorca's Greek tragedy, and I was amazed by the brutality and irrationality in passion,” answer Francisco and Alicia, the two artists leading the London/Berlin-based duo. “Forbidden Fruit is a song that has no time and space, it's a drama of human aspiration, struggle and ultimate failure,” they add. This song is just a sneak peek of what is to come, a debut album that promises to allow us to learn more about their creative universe and their musical vision.
