We last attended Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Week in September 2022, highlighting some of the best collections in a review article that you can read here. Already then we talked about the interesting combination of young creators, demonstrating the boost from the big event with Czech fashion to emerging talent, and the most consolidated profiles on the local and national scene. Now they are finalising the details of their Fall/Winter 2023 edition that will be held from April 15 to 20 at the large betting hall of Chuchle Arena Prague and in other locations in Prague. Stay tuned!
If in the last edition the meeting point for fashion shows and presentations was the Mystic Skatepark Štvanice, now it’s the turn of the Chuchle Arena Prague, a brutalist space which is usually inaccessible to the public most of the year. A unique enclave that promises to become a perfect setting for the collections presented there, as Lukáš Loskot, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Week, says. But aside from the chosen location, this next call brings news in the program of participating designers.

Boris Kráľ, one of the most recognized names on the national fashion scene, returns to fashion week after 2 years. The brand will unveil its new collection at the Andaz Hotel, where the after party will also take place, in a calendar that also includes the solo shows by designers Tobias Schubert, Michael Kováčik, Pavol Dendis, Katarina Vavrová, Denisa Dovalová, and brands AFKA and Božidara. We’ll also discover the sales collection by adidas Originals and, as is tradition, the work of students of the Fashion Design Department - UMPRUM, Technical University of Liberec, and Tomáš Baťa University in Zlín: Fashion Design Studio.

But there’s still more. If you are passionate about young designers, you should check out the VAN GRAAF Junior Talent 2023, traditionally held as part of Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Week, which has already announced its finalists. Selected by a jury of experts after having analysed their CVs and portfolios, this year's finalists are Natalia Repkovská, Alexandra Gnidiaková, Jan Smejkal and Štěpán Mareš. The showcase will take place on Saturday 15 in Chuchle Arena Prague, and the absolute winner of the competition will receive a financial contribution towards the creation of a new collection, PR support from MBPFW, and the opportunity to present his/her collection for free at the Fall edition of Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Week.

To allow us to delve into the local designers' work, this edition will also host the sixth edition of the pop-up showroom Má Vlast EDIT 06, which we can visit from April 15 to 17. And there is a big final surprise. The Berlin music and fashion scene star Patrick Mason will be performing at the iconic Prague techno club Ankal!
