Striking a perfect balance between intimacy and vehemence, Medium Build – which is the moniker of Anchorage, Alaska based songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Nick Carpenter – now releases his new single, comeonback. “It’s about friendship, forgiveness and checking our blind spots,” says the artist about his new track, which comes to light after writing “a bunch of love songs to friends and this one is the intersection of ‘I fucked up’ and ‘they fucked up,’” as he himself points out. A learning process with which the singer recognizes that he is getting to know himself better.
Medium Bild is cementing his personal sound by taking bits and pieces from his love of 80s country to 90s RnB. A sound he feels comfortable with and that allows him to express himself freely and purposefully as he is a storyteller first, weaving the timeless subjects of breakups, heartbreaks, and life changes with precocious rhetoric. Today he is releasing his latest single, comeonback, via Canvasback. And this new single comes along with a self-directed music video shot at Club Paris Restaurant in Anchorage, Alaska.

“I wanted to make a video that highlighted a place I love in Anchorage. This song is about taking an old friend out for drinks to make up. I think safety comes with trust and time. People and places aren’t static,” Medium Build replies when asked the reason for being of this music video. But this is not all. He is set to release more music this year and head back on the road this September supporting Briston Maroney on his All Aboard Tour. September promises to be a very busy month in his life with many dates already confirmed.
