“I guess I messed the fashion season: spring collections are usually showed in autumn, but I showed it in spring, just because I felt this way,” – says the 23-year-old Russian designer Lesia Paramonova, sitting in front of me with a small cup of coffee in the center of Moscow. About a week ago Lesia became famous after the show of her first collection at Cycles & Seasons fashion week.
We met at one of the most sunny days in April. Lesia – a very modest young woman in a black hat and with a blue backpack, awkwardly sipping her latte. “This collection is called LES (which means “forest” in Russian), I wanted to show human interaction with nature”, she says showing me some pics of her first work. The models wearing clothes from Lesia sat on the grass, and their faces were completely covered with hair and flowers: “I do not want to expose individuality of the models to the fore, the most important thing in my collection is clothes and the proximity to the organic, to the forest and to it`s scents”.
This is not a joke, the following clothes from the collection of Lesia will smell like a forest. At the fashion week in St. Petersburg, Lesia makes a new installation, she is going to paste a lot of pieces of natural moss on the white walls. “I’ll take three huge bags of moss, and then I will take a train from Moscow to St. Petersburg”, she laughs.
