“The delicately designed products led this collaboration to open a new chapter of eyewear by attempting a unique method of combining frame with jewellery as a structure, not simply attaching it to the frame. It made us take the next step on typical jewellery eyewear,” says Belgian creative director Stephanie D’heygere about their collaboration with the Korean brand. The result is a collection of three different frames – one pair of sunglasses, and two pairs of glasses –, all of which feature temples adorned with rings and earrings that are staples of D’heygere, making the glasses even more unique and luxurious as well as fun and unexpected. To make it even more perfect, they come in a package reminiscent of jewellery boxes.
Shot by London-based photographer Yis Kid, the campaign unites Gentle Monster and D’heygere in the most sacred way: a wedding. But, naturally, the wedding takes an odd twist. ‘Vive l’amour, ‘The perfect match’, or ‘I got the bouquet’ are some of the sentences that celebrate this collaboration, which also features the models floating à la Matrix style.
