Eee gee welcomes June by announcing the release of her sophomore album entitled SHE-REX to be released on September 1 via Future Classic. Great news for the Danish singer-songwriter who today is revealing the velvety alt-pop lead single ghost house along with an animated video giving us clues about the direction her musical project will be taking in the coming months. This latest track follows previous singles more than a woman, new year's ex, and perfect 10, all to be included in her newest body of work.
Playfully spinning the tale of haunted dating over velvety retro beats and sunny, twangy guitars, ghost house is a new sneak peek of everything to come in 2023 for the artist who claimed several five-star reviews and eventually Album of the Year accolades with her debut-album Winning, making her an alt-pop star in her native country. Based on the experience of a friend who fell in love with a guy who embodied the cliché of a cool, free-spirited surfer-dude with nice hair and that one-in-a-million look, and their apparently idyllic relationship that ended being an accumulation of lies and deceit, the creative reflects on true love realistically, questioning all the myths.
“Dating is haunted. If anyone should ever have a chance to find real love when looking for it, you probably need to break up with your own bad habits and expectations of what you think you need first. Ask yourself why you want to fall in love. If you find the answer, I believe you're most likely able to meet new exciting people with the right intentions,” she says. Making music for the introvert who is constantly pushed into the uncomfortable extrovert way of how the world works and shaping an elegant universe of paradoxes and contrasts, you can see her live in concert at BBK Live Bilbao in July or at Lollapalooza Berlin in September, among many other confirmed dates.
