“We want to show the power that artists/photographers have as a collective force. During these times, we know it can be tough to see where our power as artists lay in making a difference and where we hold the most influence, so we thought creating a collective site to sell prints to raise money was the perfect solution,” explains the organisation behind Don’t Back Down!, an initiative that collaborates with artists to directly support and provide funds for three different organisations – Equal Justice Initiative, The Okra Project and Inner City Arts.

With the motto Power to the Artist!, the initiative focuses on the important role artists and photographers are playing in these turbulent times. For that, a wide range of creatives have joined forces and are selling limited-edition prints at $150, and the 100% of the profits are donated to the organisations – on the initiative’s website, they explain with every little detail how the money is distributed. In addition to that, they’re supporting Black-owned businesses, more specifically, Contact Photo Lab, a small printing company in Downtown LA that’s specialized in fine art prints. So, visit Don’t Back Down!’s website to get your hands on prints by Jamel Shabazz, Derek Ridgers, Danielle Levitt, Sacha Lecca, Yana Yatsuk, Natalie Bergman, Kristen Giorgi, Merrick Morton, Dan Regan, Graham Dunn or Mason Poole, among many others.
