Debuting in Dior’s Fall/Winter 2022 collection, Maria Grazia Chiuri innovates the iconic pumps originally created between Roger Vivier and Christian Dior. As its name, 62-22, refers to its year of creation – the original pump released in 1962 and its reinvention in 2022 – the shoe blends past and future through the use of a new high-tech approach.

Inspired by elements of sportswear and research done by D-Air lab*, the neoprene shoe combines functionality, through its moulded ankle strap and adjustable motorcycling-inspired fastening, with aesthetics, as it is seen adorned with diligently-placed mimosa flowers, coral-inspired pearls and turquoise stones found on the fishnet base. Reflecting on the house’s rich heritage, Dior continues to uphold the designer’s legacy, pushing it forward into a new generation.
