Actors Arnaud Valois and Jérémie Laheurte, entrepreneur Younes Bendjima, and artist Kailand Morris (the son of Stevie Wonder) star in the campaign of the new Modern Tailoring collection, a capsule collection designed by Dior Men’s Artistic Director Kim Jones, and shot by Brett Lloyd. Understanding tailoring “as the quintessence of the art of couture,” this new release shines a light on the new ways of understanding elegance, bridging comfort and slick design.
The Modern Tailoring capsule collection, consisting of three jackets and three pants, combines “the iconic House codes with the contemporary spirit” dear to Kim Jones, reads the press release. The pieces come in three different rich fabrics – a plain black virgin wool and mohair blend, a textured micro houndstooth, and a Prince of Wales check.
Regarding the jackets, we find a double-breasted jacket adorned with a signature cross strap that stands out for its structured cut. Then, a second model has a more workwear approach, which channels “a more urban attitude.” And the last one, with a classic Harrington shape, proves that in 2020, you can be elegant and business-savvy yet more informal. All of the three designs feature a matte black CD icon pin, buttons borrowed from the Bar suit, and a lining patterned with the cannage motif and matching interior button.
In the bottoms section, Kim Jones has designed three different pants: a suit pant, a revisited chino, and a jogging pant. Again, finding the perfect balance between the formal and the informal. As a finishing touch, the looks are completed with the new B27 sneakers and the CD Loafers.
