With their SS'15 collection, entitled "Outer Skin", fashion label Digitaria explores the serenity and purity of the human body and how these conditions are shaped, activated or disconnected when attired. The colors in the collection are muted. Lightweight fabrics, 3mm constructed pleats and clean silhouettes infuse the collection with a subtle ease. Simple, yet tailored forms create an architectural weight opposed to the lightness of the materials.
Eleftheria Arapoglou, the designer behind the brand, tells us about the collaboration with Kostis Fokas: “Digitaria represents the collaboration of creative thinking and a will to exchange ideas and interact with different creative partners. Being familiar with the work of Kostis Fokas, we knew from scratch that we wanted to collaborate with him in this collection. We were intrigued with his way of capturing and sculpturing the human body opposed to the Outer Skin collection’s clean and flawless lines.“
Photographer Kostis Fokas experiments, explores and plays with the human body. Using the Digitaria collection he creates quirky human sculptures, which are hidden behind the clothes but are also as important as what is revealed in this provocative interplay of fashion and acrobatics. He shared with us a few words about his collaboration with designer Eeftheria Arapoglou. "Through this collection I had the chance to use the bodies as forms inside the garments when there was no actual need to use specific sizes. I really enjoyed my collaboration with Digitaria as we share the same aesthetics , besides it was very easy for me to get inspired by just looking at the collection.''
