After the brands’ collaboration last June as part of Camper’s Together project, they’re back at it again for this Spring/Summer 2019. This time, though, it’s Kiko Kostadinov’s women division that steps in, with the sisters Deanna and Laura Fanning at its helm. Their innovative approach to design has translated into two models for the Camper Twins collection, which celebrated its 30th anniversary just last year. The idea is to make perfectly asymmetric shoes that match and complement each other. And the Fanning sisters have made just that.
Mixing different materials, textures, and colours, the two models – an ankle book and a knee-high boot – are designed from the same starting point: Camper’s Brooke heel. Twin sisters Laura and Deanna have put together these two models featuring “extreme panelling, innovative cutting, bold contouring and an engineering approach to knitwear”, which reflect Kiko Kostadinov’s “dedication to push the boundaries of contemporary design”.
In London, the attendants of the presentation were welcomed by a minimalist setting, consisting of six bluish glass bases exhibiting the two different models. The rest, you can imagine: cool people, some drinks, nice music, and a perfect atmosphere to have some fun on a Wednesday afternoon. If you like what you see, you can get them at the CamperLab stores in London, Paris and New York, or on Camper’s website.
