Rosalía takes a break from her world tour to star in Acne Studios’ latest campaign featuring pieces from its Fall/Winter 2022 collection. The Motomami singer is intimately captured sporting the Swedish brand’s experimental clothing in a striking synthesis of bold aesthetics and modern silhouettes.
Shot in Rosalía’s hometown of Barcelona, the singer states, “When I pose for a photographer, I always try to be myself but also try to channel an energy.” The photographer in question here is Paul Kooiker, the Dutch multi-dimensional enigmatic artist who is known for capturing his subjects in way which renders them into a mysteriously majestic sculpture. Speaking of him, Rosalía states, “he has an atemporal style, his pictures could have been taken when photography was invented.” Pairing the two intransigent artists achieved Creative Director Jonny Johansson’s vision of juxtaposing “historical references” with “a cultural icon who feels so effortlessly of the moment.”

The collection itself is composed of heavy hitters – a sleeveless repurposed leather assortment finished off with an imposing silver belt buckle, a lapel-less sharply cut suit jacket and a classic beige maxi trench coat finished off lined with stitched puffer sleeves. The accessories are just as show-stopping, notably the classic black-strapped stiletto featuring black and yellow faux fur stretching out of the toebox as well as jersey boots and futuristic sunglasses, Rosalía’s favourite pieces of the collection.
