Festival line-up announcement season is in full swing, and which festival better than All Points East to keep us fantasising about artists we might be seeing next summer. The first artists announced for the upcoming 2025 edition, which will take place from the 22nd to the 24th of August in London, carry the torch on from past editions legendary lineups. Raye, Doechii, Tyla, Barry Can’t Swim… mixing genres and international and local artists, attend or forever regret missing out.
With its latest addition to its roster of iconic artists, All Points East is heavily responsible for what’s shaping up to another unforgettable summer of live music in the British capital. Three more than worthy headliners will perform at the 50,000-capacity Victoria Park from the 22nd to the 24th of August.
Opening the festival on Friday, which is coincidentially his birthday, Barry Can’t Swim tops the bill. The fast-rising Edinburgh-born DJ-producer who killed it at Glastonbury this year and followed it up with three back-to-back sold-out shows at the O2 Academy in Brixton is set to be playing his only London gig in 2025 at the festival. Expect a blend of rich sounds ranging from house to Afrobeat to jazz influences skilfully blended to shape up his dynamic sound. He isn’t alone as he will be joined by a range of support acts including Confidence Man, METAL 47 cover star Shygirl, Marlon Hoffstadt, and more to be announced.
Following Barry Can’t Swim’s lead on Saturday is none other than the legendary singer-songwriter Raye. Having performed alongside the likes of Jungle and Erykah Badu in 2023, Raye returns this year as a headliner for her largest ever concert. Since her last appearance she has been on a winning streak, earning a record-breaking six BRIT awards, topping charts and also getting nominated for several Grammys. She’s also in very good company, supported by a powerhouse female line-up of other genre-bending and record-breaking artists such as Tyla, Doechii, and Jade. If this somehow wasn’t enough to convince, expect even more performers to be announced soon.
Closing off the festival, indie heroes The Maccabees will be reuniting for their first show in eight years on Sunday, coinciding with the ten-year anniversary of their final record together. The English indie rock band’s jagged guitar lines will also be accompanied by the likes of Bombay Bicycle Club, Dry Cleaning, The Cribs, and Nilüfer Yanya (for now…).
A weekend of non-stop partying and enjoying the convergence of a plethora of different genres, artists and shows is evident by simply looking at the stellar line-up. The multi-day festival is definitely not one to miss!
