Three girls in lockdown, three different countries, three different ways of coping with quarantine. Does it sound exciting? This is Miss Quarantine, a project by Laura Martinova. Today we present the first of the three fashion films that we’ll be publishing every Friday. For this one, we travel to Milan to meet stylist Julia Beo.
It is said that the most powerful thing in life is passion. As long as there are passion, drive and creativity, there will be light even in the darkest days. Photographer and director Laura Martinova proves this to us. Even if quarantine is not easy at all for her, because as she says “I am used to travelling, work and move around all the time, so having to stay home is challenging”, the global pandemic didn’t stop her willingness to create.

“When the quarantine started, I had the idea of working with Julia as a stylist and model for the fashion film”, explains Laura. Even if Julia Beo’s everyday life changed quite a lot, she managed to reorganize it to find pleasure in little things. Is there anything better than a relaxing glass of white wine or dancing by yourself all over your flat? “I read a lot of books and I spent my days watching old movies, I’m completely in love with Nouvelle Vague and Italian directors like Pasolini and Fellini”, confesses Julia.
They both agree that quarantine is being an opportunity for them to enjoy little daily activities, as a new skincare routine or doing yoga. “I rediscovered the pleasure of writing, I always loved to write poetry and thoughts, but before the quarantine, I worked a lot and I didn’t write as much as I need”, Julia admitted. Despite that, they can’t wait to see their friends and walk around the city. While that comes, we all can enjoy Miss Quarantine Part 1. Milano.
