Vitaly continues to prove that a new way of understanding beauty is possible (and necessary). All their initiatives, from their environmentally conscious eyewear collection The Matrix to their stunning Fall 2021 editorial Origins, are examples of how the speeches championed by brands can (and should) be materialised into concrete action. Projects that manage to surprise an audience overloaded with information with a plausible aesthetic sense, which now leads to their new collaboration: the Ugly Worldwide collection. An action in which they join forces with the artist and model Jazelle Zanaughtti, who embodies values such as self-expression and freedom.
“Medieval warrior fantasy, but from the future!” Jazzelle Zanaughtti, better known as Ugly Worldwide, said when she started to shape the pieces that would make up her collaboration with the Vitaly team. An effective and coherent alliance that now materialises in the Signal globe ring, the adjustable Paradox choker and the Synapse, a series of interconnected lip and ear cuffs that can be worn individually or as one striking unit. Unique creations inspired by the past, simulating the armour of a warrior who is about to go to the battlefield, and by the future, through a contemporary and innovative design.
The blurring of gender barriers or the questioning of unshakable beauty standards are some of the aspects shared by Vitaly and Ugly Worldwide. A quite similar way of understanding the world that now lands in the form of future-focussed, genderless accessories, in which they have been working for more than a year. Made from 100% recycled stainless steel, the campaign was creative directed by Zanaughtti herself, styled by Steph Major and shot by Connor Cunningham. Special mention should be made of the incredible images we present today, in which a stunning green dress signed by designer Alvaro Mars stands out. And that’s not all. A robust metal hand-cover, aptly titled Guard, will see an individual release in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
