First came the A.P.C collab, then the coveted Atmos release, now, before 2022 comes to an end, Shushu/Tong puts a bow on Asics as the Japanese label wrapping a year full of hyped shoe-collabs. The Shanghai-based label has partnered up with Asics to release a two-shoe collection reinventing the EL-MJ model with a campaign shot by photographer Hailun Ma.
Established by Liushu Lei and Yutong Jiang in 2015, Shushu/Tong is a fashion label which celebrates femininity. Their collections are made up for modern women with cool attitudes and rebellious spirits who aren’t scared to showcase and express their femininity through unabashedly feminine details like ruffles, bowknots. All crafted through time-honoured tailoring techniques developed in their in-house studio in Shanghai.
Our favourite dad shoe gets a kawaii, feminine and edgy revamp from Shushu/Tong to the timeless athletic silhouette. The chunky sneakers come with oversized bows and are available to purchase in two different monochromatic colorways in black or white homaging Shushu/Tong's signature neutral colour palette. Working on top of a mesh base decorated with zig-zag motifs and and textured rubber overlays, the romantic silhouette features a multi-material construction elevated using a series of studs and buttons which gracefully accompany Asics' iconic tiger stripes.
