Jean Paul Gaultier and Y/Project have teamed up for a second collaboration, this time with a focus on prints that create the illusion of garment mashups. Glenn Martens, guest couturier at Jean Paul Gaultier for January 2022, returns for a second ready-to-wear capsule showcasing his fascination for Gaultier’s trompe-l’oeil pieces. The capsule collection is captured by photographer Thomas Cristiani and stars Gia Bab, with creative direction courtesy of Florence Tétier.
The collection explores illusion through 2D-printed knits placed on mesh dresses, tank tops, turtle necks, maxi and mini skirts, elevated through knit details on sleeves and necks.The range includes looks for both men and woman, from t-shirts banded with a print of belt-encircled jeans to cable knit tops.
