Imagine this: a runway transformed into an interactive canvas. Models stepped into pools of paint, leaving multicoloured footprints across the floor, each stride creating a living artwork. A giant pink claw worn as a top, an oversized diamond ring as an accessory, belts blown out of proportion, bold props, clashing prints, and playful exaggeration. This was the Zomer Spring/Summer 2026 collection, and in an industry too often weighed down by superficiality, shadowplay, and endless black or nude palettes, it arrived as a genuine breath of fresh air.
Playful and experimental, Zomer has always asked: what if clothing were imagined through a child’s eyes? The result is unexpected proportions, daring colours, and silhouettes that sometimes break or invert conventions. Founded in 2023 by designer Danial Aitouganov and stylist Imruh Asha and with a name that translates to "summer" in Dutch, the label embraces whimsy with the precision of an established house. Fashion, after all, should be about joy, and Collection 05 was no exception.
This season, Zomer explored the tension of growing up, of evolving from miniature to monumental. The underlying question was: how can a young brand mature without losing the joyful excess that defines its voice? S/S 2026 became a moment of confirmation, proof that Zomer’s visual vocabulary and creative ambition can expand while retaining the bold energy that first captured attention.
The show’s built-in theatricality reinforced their identity not just as cloth-makers, but as visual storytellers. And yet, among the exaggerated scales and whimsical gestures, there were grounded notes: sharp trousers, bomber jackets, and striped separates. Pieces that nodded toward everyday wear and brought balance to the spectacle.
Zomer's S/S 2026 was exhilarating, colourful, and unapologetically bold. Not flawless—at times the spectacle overshadowed the craftsmanship—but more often than not, it landed. It felt like a turning point: proof that Zomer can blend fantasy with clothes people will actually buy. A brand maturing without losing its soul. The collection reads as both a celebration of what Zomer is and a promise of what it might become.
