For the second time in a row, but out of official calendar, Valentino presented their men collection during Pitti Uomo. We were received in the famous beautiful Giardino Di Boboli where the presentation took place. After last season success, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli chose to show again their new collection in Italy because of its idea of the contemporary craftsmanship of couture, and particularly in Florence for its memory of men's elegance excellence.
With the importance of couture and new, the collection was built on a revisited modern wardrobe, from the field jacket and trench coat to the parker and denim trucker, offering a smarter view on Valentino tradition. With accents of camouflage, uniforms, and street elements (as running shoes), the collection was a fusion of contrasts. Playing on volumes, and proportions, summer was sporty and the silhouette distinct, proposing an interesting take on contemporary couture sartorialism and keeping Valentino into the run to men fashion innovation.
