Welcoming the imperfect, this exhibition is a multimedia exploration of consciousness, embracing the effects of time and reflecting not only memory’s emotional resonance but also its control over our physical perception of the world. Consisting of lighting, performance, and spatial elements, The Burrow’s London Show, titled Memory, founded by fellow creator Harry Boulton, is an amalgamation of the almost forgotten. From September 19th to 21st at Empire Film Studio, this group exhibition is one not to be missed.
The decaying, textured qualities of the exhibition space, hosted at the Empire Film Studio, reflect our relationship with memory—a relationship that urges us to revisit what once was. The Burrow aims to expand our understanding of memory, inviting its visitors to collectively reflect on their past. Looking to immersive art pieces that evoke and mirror our inner depths, the exhibition synopsis describes it as a “delicate dance between remembrance and insensibility.”
By giving artists the chance to experiment with interdisciplinary mediums (painting, sculpture, dance, and film), The Burrow challenges the traditional, polished portrayal of fine art. The space will feature works from participating artists, who will contribute three to five ‘things’ they associate with memory. Run by artists for artists, the space seeks to cultivate a connection between creator, viewer, and buyer. All works will be available for purchase both during the show and afterwards through The Burrow’s catalogue.
Artist line-up: Atlas Azure, Anouska Samms, Callum Lovell Harrison, Charli Kleeman, Flora McLachlan, Jesse Crankson, Jungwon Jay Hur, Jude Wakeley, Matilda Little, Mahlon Sugawara, Murva Bou, Miya Kumo, Nic Sanderson, Robi Swims, Sem Osian, Stuart Nimmo, Stell Dealey, Theodora Koumbouzis, Violet Savage, Zahra Van Nguyen.
The Burrow will take place from Thursday, September 19th to Saturday, September 21st at Empire Film Studio, 2083 Acton Mews, London, E8 4DG.
