The Royal Albert Hall is getting ready for the biggest night in the British fashion scene while also serving as a fundraiser. The British Fashion Council Awards, presented by Pandora, have revealed their nominees. Here's all you need to know about the ceremony, which will take place on December 1st.
Every year, designers from around the globe receive numerous industry recognitions, with awards given to everyone from emerging talent to the biggest names in fashion. Beyond the glamour and celebration, the event presented in London also serves as a critical fundraiser for the BFC Foundation, supporting education, emerging designers, and business development within the fashion industry. As usual, this year’s nominees were selected by a jury of nineteen industry experts, including critics, editors, and buyers, who based their choices on the quality, innovation, and diversity of the designers’ work.
Starting with the Designer of the Year, the nominees are a global mix of fashion powerhouses. The list includes Glenn Martens for his transformative work at Diesel and Maison Margiela, along with the versatile Jonathan Anderson, recognised for both Dior and his own JW Anderson label. Martine Rose, Miuccia Prada (for Miu Miu), Rick Owens, and Willy Chavarria complete the list, each celebrated for their significant influence on the international fashion landscape.
The spotlight then turns to British talent with the British Womenswear Designer and British Menswear Designer categories. For womenswear, Charlotte Knowles and Alexandre Arsenault of KNWLS, Emma Chopova and Laura Lowena of Chopova Lowena, and Simone Rocha are all up for the award, alongside industry veterans Erdem Moralıoğlu and Sarah Burton for Givenchy.
The menswear field is equally strong, featuring Craig Green, Foday Dumbuya for Labrum London, Grace Wales Bonner, Kiko Kostadinov, and Nicholas Daley. The duo Stefan Cooke and Jake Burt also earned a nomination for their work at Stefan Cooke.
Finally, the new Vanguard Award spotlights emerging visionaries such as Aaron Esh, Dilara Fındıkoğlu, and Feben, among others, who are shaping the future of British fashion with their creative and cultural leadership.
