Puma and Nahmias are taking Californian style to the next level, unveiling a new collaboration focused on the Suede in different colorways that serves as a love letter to the West Coast while keeping the sportswear spirit alive.
The sportswear giant has mastered a unique alchemy in selecting collaborators who do more than just tweak a product; they expand the brand’s cultural mythology. While others lean into logo-heavy repetition, Puma uses their rich archival silhouettes, and now it’s time for the Suede to shine. And they’re doing so in partnership with designer Doni Nahmias, who previewed what was coming in his latest runway show in Paris last January, where the sneakers acted as the grounding element for a collection that redefined Californian nonchalance. By aligning with a self-taught talent who has rapidly climbed the fashion hierarchy, Puma moves beyond mere sportswear, positioning its archival heritage at the very centre of the global high-fashion conversation.
For this drop, the Suede sneaker goes all in with textures, abandoning traditional clean lines in favour of intentional, handcrafted ‘imperfection.’ The silhouette is reimagined through a lens of tactile experimentation, featuring exposed foam edges, distressed leather formstrips, and asymmetrical overlays that give the shoe a rugged, artisanal soul. The standout detail is undoubtedly the integration of crochet accents and friendship beads, a playful nod to DIY culture that contrasts beautifully with the premium materials. Complete with the internal ‘Let’s Be Friends’ sign-off, this new drop has us wanting more.
The global launch will be on February 13 on Puma’s website, flagship stores, and selected stockists.
