Octobre Éditions joins forces with New Delhi-based Kardo for a capsule of three shirts that speak the language of craft. Born from a shared respect for time, detail, and tradition, the collaboration fuses French precision with Indian textile heritage. Each 100% cotton piece is cut, sewn, and finished by hand in Kardo’s workshop. This collaboration celebrates technique, story, and craftsmanship, reminding us of the power of joining forces in an industry that demands new solutions and ways to keep surprising the audience.
The collection reworks Octobre’s signature Holt shirt through distinct artisanal methods. One uses centuries-old block printing with natural indigo; another features hand-embroidered florals stitched in New Delhi; the third is woven with textured patterns in subtle relief. Both brands reject the churn of mass production. Kardo, rooted in practices like Shibori, Chikankari, and Ikat, keeps India’s textile legacy alive with a modern cut, while Octobre, born out of a simple need to create pieces men couldn’t always find, continues its mission since 2016: building timeless essentials with care.
“We were captivated by Kardo’s work — artisanry at its finest, using time-honoured methods to achieve a one-of-a-kind finish with extraordinary attention to detail,” says Arthur Person, director of Octobre. “Kardo takes a fresh look at modern production by going against the grain of mass manufacturing. At the heart of it all: craft, passion, and precision,” he adds.
