Miuccia Prada has always been a master of storytelling, and for Fall/Winter 2025, she turns her focus to a thoughtful, layered exploration of femininity. This season, Miu Miu steps away from the youthful, viral aesthetics of recent collections—miniskirts and ballet flats—and embraces a more mature yet equally daring vision. It’s an evolution, not an abandonment, of the Miu Miu girl.
Miu Miu's latest collection boldly reimagines vintage ladylike aesthetics, injecting them with a defiant edge under Lotta Volkova's styling. The show, a deliberate exaggeration of femininity, presented a parade of sixty-six looks that defied expectations. While midi skirts, asymmetrical sweaters, and slip dresses conveyed a sense of refinement, leather jackets and fur capes added a sharp, rebellious contrast.
The venue, the Palais D'Iena, was transformed into a narrow runway with tightly packed seating, enhancing the impact of the garments. A rich, old-world colour palette of muted mustard, dark olive, and burnt sienna, punctuated by vibrant purples and greens, further emphasised the collection's distinctive character. Pale silk dresses were paired with thigh-high socks, fur stoles, and top-handle bags, while statement outerwear and suiting were reinvented with inventive fits.
Hats of all shapes and sizes underscored the collection’s narrative, elevating accessories from mere accents to essential components. The collection revelled in deliberate excess, showcasing fuzzy stoles, sharp cone bras, and oversized gold brooches and earrings. Last but not least, footwear—featuring vividly coloured socks paired with everything from loafers to sneakers—became a striking focal point.
