And just like that, Milan fashion week is over. After the kickstart of New York and following London, the Italian city has been swept by fashion industry insiders attending shows and presentations by historical houses like Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Ferragamo, and Missoni, as well as others from younger, more daring brands like Avavav, Diesel or Sunnei. As usual, the streets were full of outstanding looks predicting the hottest new trends while balancing everyone’s personal style, and photographer Alexander Fischer was there to capture them.
After the more radical, free-spirited approach of New York and London, Milan takes us back to the roots of elegance, tailoring, and filling our wardrobes with timeless staple pieces. It’s also the time where decades-old fashion houses showcase their expertise when it comes to pattern-making, materials and fabrics, and construction. But, as usual, there are also brands that keep on expanding the limits of what’s fashionable, trendy, or even acceptable, like Avavav’s closing look—a trompe l’oeil on a model’s body that resembled an adidas tracksuit. While we prepare a summary of the best collections so far, here’s a visual diary to check on the streets, details, and backstage of the latest Spring/Summer 2025 season in Milan.
