In a moment when designers seem to be playing musical chairs across the industry, Meryll Rogge’s appointment as the new creative director of Marni signals more than just a shift in aesthetic, but it marks the rise of one of the few women leading a major fashion house today, succeeding Francesco Risso, who left in June after almost ten years.
We had the chance to chat Meryll Rogge with Rogge back in April, and one thing she mentioned stuck with us: her obsession with layers, not just in clothes, but in storytelling. It's exactly that layered approach that Marni likely fell in love with.
Her journey so far says a lot: trained in Antwerp, years at Marc Jacobs in New York, then head of women's at Dries Van Noten, collaborating on the beauty line too. In just a few years, her namesake brand picked up awards, from Emerging Talent in 2021 to Designer of the Year in 2024 and the 2025 ANDAM Grand Prix.
In the official statement, she shares, “I’m truly honoured to join Marni, a house I’ve long admired for its independent spirit.” That spirit feels like the perfect match for where Marni is headed. Rogge, for her part, is already sketching out what comes next.
