Did you think that after the seemingly endless shuffle of creative directors between major Houses, the industry was done? Think again. Amidst a packed schedule of debuts this fashion week, there’s a new name to take into account: Abigail Smith. After a long trajectory, she’s ready to take on the role of Creative Director at Maison Kitsuné
“I have always admired Maison Kitsuné for its ability to blend fashion, music, and culture into a singular art de vivre. My vision is to create a contemporary, functional wardrobe that reflects Parisian elegance while honoring the brand’s Paris–Tokyo identity,” Abigail comments. Her vision will be revealed in the coming days, when the brand unveils their Spring/Summer 2026 collection in the French capital.
Founders Gildas Loaëc and Masaya Kuroki say of the appointment: “We are delighted to welcome Abigail Smith as our new Creative Director. In her mission she is redefining the Maison Kitsuné silhouette. Through her talent and expertise, and in close collaboration with our Paris atelier, she is crafting a fresh and modern Parisian wardrobe — opening the next chapter of our House.”
Originally from Sheffield, England, Abigail Smith studied at the prestigious London College of Fashion and earned a Fulbright scholarship to study at F.I.T. in New York. With that, she’s built a solid career internationally, working across NYC, London, and Paris, with brands like Celine, Chloé, Stella McCartney, Burberry, and Calvin Klein. Now, she’s ready to share that knowledge at Maison Kitsuné.
