In a world where fast fashion is taking over, brands like Maison Kitsuné break the norm, staying true to themselves and keeping quality and versatility as their top priorities. Founded by Gildas Loaëc and Masaya Kuroki in 2002, the brand is now under the creative direction of Abigail Smiley-Smith. The new Fall/Winter 2026 collection takes Paris to the inhospitable mountains, transforming the city’s wilderness into a dialogue with nature. This new vision explores the limits of modernity and redefines the idea of comfort for every occasion, from going to work to dinner, or even heading out on a hike. The question is: are you ready to follow the fox beyond the city limits?
Taking inspiration from artists Constantin Brancusi and Isamu Noguchi, and especially the UNESCO Noguchi Garden in Paris (a hidden spot of peace to escape the chaos), the F/W 2026 collection reflects a balance between serenity and the urban rush. The use of fabrics such as cashmere, alpaca, leather, Japanese indigo denim, and double-faced wool makes a clear point: no cheap fibres are used in the main wardrobe pieces, emphasising longevity, quality, and a natural, refined feel. The core pieces of the collection, ranging from belted technical puffers to structured hunting jackets with utility pockets and corduroy collars, cropped jackets, wide-leg denim, relaxed tailoring with workwear-inspired pockets, and premium knitwear, create a functional yet chic line that effortlessly blends everyday life with the pursuit of adventure.
In addition, the collection features fox-shaped leather charms that can elevate the new Inaré bag, available in black, ocean blue, and dark taupe leather, as well as the Edie, now in bouclé and luxurious pony. Footwear highlights include the Sora runner with a discreetly chunky sole in nostalgic grey with speckled white details, canvas trainers referencing the brand’s French and Japanese heritage, ankle boots for women, and Flâneur slip-ons for men.
Undoubtedly, Maison Kitsuné makes a grand return to the fashion scene with an exceptionally complete Fall/Winter collection, emphasising the frontier between urban life and the thrill of nature, and embodying the idea of “To be where we are least expected to be,” as Loaëc and Kuroki always say, with the first pieces expected to arrive later in the season.
