One Minute, the latest single from Northampton's rising star Maddox Jones, came together completely by accident. It was inspired by looking at an old photograph and wanting to be back in that moment again, imagining having one more minute in that moment, as its creator explains when asked about the starting point of this song that comes along with a music video that has just been released. Filmed at a beach in Norfolk by a new creative studio called Tortellini Creative, which is made up of director Alex Gwyn Davies and cinematographer Triss Qian, the video co-star is actor and musician Romy Ben-Hur.
“On August 10th, I messaged my good friend Alexi Gwyn Davies, who made the amazing video for my song Somewhere There’s a Plan, and said, Are you any good with special effects? I need a video that makes me look like I'm in the sand of an hourglass,” shared Maddox Jones, who recently announced that he'll be opening a large portion of Will Young's comeback tour across the UK on his social media a few hours ago while unveiling the music video for his single One Minute. “A month and a bit later, and it's here on YouTube for all to see, and I think it's brilliant!”
The music video employs CGI alongside real-world scenes to create a sense of heading back in time for just one minute and addresses the idea of how by obsessing over a memory you create an imagined version of events and are trapped and also tormented by it. From late October to early December, the artist will be performing across the UK, including cities such as Manchester, Brighton, and Bristol, among others, supporting Will Young, where he’ll be sharing new songs off his upcoming album.
