Recognising the talent of emerging designers, Loro Piana has announced the Knit Design Award 2025. Their innovative project, named Paracadute, captivated the jury with its distinctive interpretation of this year's inspiring theme: Winter Legacy – Translating Linen into Heritage Knitwear.
The spotlight belonged to Morgan Boyce and Simone Rizzato, who were officially announced as the winners of the 2025 Loro Piana Knit Design Award. The award brings with it more than just a trophy and a scholarship — it marks the beginning of an exciting professional chapter for the duo, with an exclusive opportunity to collaborate with Loro Piana itself.
Boyce and Rizzato’s winning design, Paracadute, will be brought to life inside the Maison’s historic workshops in Piedmont. There, they’ll work side by side with master artisans, learning from generations of expertise and immersing themselves in the delicate craftsmanship that defines Loro Piana’s legacy. Their finished piece will be unveiled this summer at the brand’s booth at Pitti Filati — the premier international yarn and knitwear trade show in Florence, running from July 1st to 3rd.
If you understand the brand codes, you’ll know that a commitment to innovation and quality is non-negotiable; it’s in Loro Piana’s DNA. That’s why bringing together an international jury of industry experts was essential in making the ninth edition of the Knit Design Award truly stand out. The carefully selected panel evaluated entries not just for their aesthetic or technical merit but for how well they embodied the Maison’s values: timeless elegance, quiet luxury, and a deep respect for material and craft. The result? A showcase of designs that didn’t just reinterpret a material but reimagined what knitwear can be.
