After introducing herself with last year’s debut EP, phases of becoming, and spending recent months on tour supporting Jhariah, Lora Mouna returns today with The Difference, a dream-pop and indie-rock single that feels both familiar and refreshingly adventurous.
Known for her confessional songwriting and haunting vocals, the Brooklyn-based artist has always treated music as a way of making sense of complicated emotions. Growing up under the influence of her Syrian mother, later studying opera before finding her place in indie rock, she has built a voice that feels entirely her own. On The Difference, she explores dissociation and the feeling of becoming trapped inside recurring emotional patterns, translating those experiences into a song that slowly builds towards an intense, cathartic release.
