London based photographer Kim Jakobsen To presents his first solo exhibition, "Birdland". The event was held at the Rove gallery in the heart of East London, Shoreditch. A delightful evening accompanied with family, friends and fans and the great surprise of Niels Bench's performance.
After countless collective photo exhibitions along England, India or Japan, among another large countries, and a large body of work on magazines and advertising campaigns, finally we can enjoy Kim Jakobsen To's first solo exhibition. The photographer originally born in Norway, shows a selection of photo-diary of his life between London and Oslo and a selection of work with distinguished stylists.
Birdland is Kim's eyes, images full of visual poetry, where the photographer plays with androgyny, the longing of his subjects's own identity, on his series of portraits of the different youth subcultures.
The photographer also exhibits new work, 220 Kingsland Road, a series of nude portraits of friends taken on his own living room.
Kim Jakobsen To truly brings a new air to the photography where he fuses fashion and his own personal vision.
