Part scape room, part real-life Clue, the new Hermès experience at New York City’s Pier 36 turns visitors into detectives for an hour. The goal? To immerse yourself in the Maison’s rich history while looking for sixteen missing horses from the Grooms family. Equally entertaining and educational, Mystery at the Grooms takes you to the depths of Hermès in a lighthearted, childlike fashion.
If you’re here, it means that you’re into fashion. And as you probably know already, Hermès, the house most known for emblematic bags like the Birkin and the Kelly, as well as the carré silk scarfs, started their empire in the equine world. Still today, horses are a pillar of the French Maison — think of their logo, for instance. That’s why their new interactive experience in NYC is closely related to that. “Playing means being together. Play is movement, freedom, imagination, fantasy, lightness… and the horse is our first companion in the playground of creation,” says Pierre-Alexis Dumas, Artistic Director of Hermès.
Digging deep into their legacy, Hermès has created this sixty-minute experience that puts together their sixteen métiers, showcasing the savoir faire that’s made Hermès a household name.   Participants will play detectives while looking for clues and emblematic objects of the House, like the Hermès Della Cavalleria Minibag, the Brides de gala scarf, or a pair of shoes that leaves prints shaped like horseshoes.
After debuting in Shanghai, the experience is later on moving to Tokyo, Singapore, and Paris, allowing clients and curious people alike to experience Hermès’ history first-hand.
