Milan Fashion Week sizzled this season as Gucci unveiled its latest Spring/Summer 2025 Men's Collection. Forget a runway show; this was a cultural conversation orchestrated by Sabato De Sarno. Held within the historic walls of Triennale Milano, a haven for design and artistic innovation since 1923, the stage was set for a fashion odyssey.
The choice of Triennale Milano as the setting is no coincidence. Since its founding in 1923, this institution has emerged as a pillar of creativity and innovation in design, architecture, visual, and performing arts. The building, with its modernist architectural majesty, reflects the essence of an era dedicated to the rethinking of function and space. This environment resonated perfectly with De Sarno's intentions to create a collection that constantly taps into reality and today's society.
"This collection is about encounters," De Sarno declared. "Encounters between the city and the beach, encounters between those who embrace life. Ultimately, it's about freedom. When my words align with my thoughts and my actions reflect my heart, I feel truly free. I want people to feel that same liberation and comfort in these clothes."
The runway pulsed with the collection's captivating blend of cityscapes and seascapes. Long wool and bonded leather coats exuded urban sophistication with high vertical pockets and dramatic back slits. Tailoring took centre stage with impeccable three-button suits boasting high lapel breaks and sharp sleeves, paired with relaxed jackets. Utility shirts, a playful departure from classic bowling styles, showcased De Sarno's innovative spirit. Featuring three pockets and adorned with beaded fringe and vibrant flower embroidery, these pieces embodied summery ease. Prints featuring surfers, dolphins, and tropical flora added a touch of whimsy.
Hand-woven long-sleeved polo shirts shimmered with sequin intarsia, while sorbet-hued jackets adorned with beaded fringe evoked the ocean. Footwear saw the iconic Horsebit motif reimagined with a sleek pointed toe, adorning both boots and loafers. The Gucci Cub3d sneakers stole the show with their moulded soles featuring a 3D interlocking G, a detail echoed in the elastic slip-on sneakers.
Gucci's rich heritage was also spotted in the luggage-inspired bags crafted from brushed leather with removable elements. The ever-popular Gucci B bag returned in both regular and mini sizes, while quilted leather bags with magnetic closures and practical cross-body bags with lobster clasps offered a touch of modern functionality.
Double lobster clasp belts echoed the Horsebit motif, while segmented bracelets and necklaces mimicked the natural beauty of bamboo. Thick-framed sunglasses with eye-catching Gucci straps added a final touch of contemporary flair.
