Independent electronic pop duo from Copenhagen Fame Hunter are releasing today their self-titled debut EP. Consisting of Siggy Sonne and Heva Vaupel, the band that was originally conceived as a fictional act for an Adidas Originals Superstar shoe campaign by Cecilie Jørgensen but quickly evolved into the real deal and a musical project first and foremost now presents their five-track spinner of electro-pop infused songs for the floor that are simultaneously euphoric and gloomy. Fame Hunter has been written and produced together with Mads Bergland.
Describing their own sound as “the sonic equivalent of smudged eyeliner and cigarette smoke,” Fame Hunter was featured on Vogue US a few weeks ago when they were releasing Disappear, the first single from their just-released EP. “I really love the whole princess vibe meets the gothic vampire chick,” Vaupel said in that interview, which showcased the interesting and original synergies that can arise between the fashion and music universes. Drawing freely from the electropop aesthetics of the late 2000s and sounding like the lovechild of a warehouse rave and a Versace fashion show, this musical project escapes current trends to vindicate identity, freedom and maximum creativity.
Don’t Talk About Me, Sugar Violence, Nothing Left, Heels, and Disappear are the five tracks included on this EP, created from fragments of the Danish duo’s life, both real and fictional, in motion blur. This celebration of humour and creative freedom reminds us that the most important thing is to have fun and enjoy the creative process, stepping out of our comfort zones and trying new formulas with the ultimate goal of offering something new to the audience. They will be celebrating their release party on June 11th, and it promises to be an unforgettable experience.
